CUSD Band students wowed a packed house at Bandtastic! 🎺🥁🎻🎷🎺 This district-wide concert by students in grades 6-12 – and their amazing music teachers – is a crowd favorite that showcases both musical talent and the impact of performing arts in education. Bravo! 👏🎶🎉 For more photos, please visit our Facebook page.
It takes a village to pull off an event of this magnitude. 🙌 Thank you to everyone who made it possible, including our Educational Services team, Central Valley High School staff, CUSD Maintenance, Custodial, and Technology teams, our school communities, families who attended and support their children’s music education all year through, and of course, our students and their music teachers. 🫶

Showing up every day matters, and we love celebrating our Warriors who demonstrate respect, responsibility, and integrity by being present and ready to learn. Will your first period be celebrated next? Never miss a Monday or you might miss out!

A Day of Learning for Our Warriors Staff! 📚✨
Today, our amazing teachers and staff spent the day deepening their skills to better support our students! We kicked off the morning focusing on math across contents, followed by a session led by our Assistant Principal and Teacher Lead on PBIS & MTSS—systems designed to foster a positive and supportive culture for all students.
We also explored student clarity, learning how to see learning through students’ eyes and guide them in understanding where they are and where they’re going in their learning.
After a morning of deep learning, we took time for self-care with activities like walking, gardening, mandala coloring, and guided breathing meditation before lunch. 🌿🎨✨
The afternoon brought important discussions on our Minga digital hall pass rollout, and we wrapped up the day with team time—collaborating and planning for the rest of the school year.
It was a fantastic day of learning, and we can’t wait to apply it all as we welcome our students back on Monday! ❤️🖤

📣 Exciting News for Our Mae Hensley Families!
We’re thrilled to share that starting next year, Mae Hensley will offer a Dual Language Immersion (DLI) strand as part of our programming! 🎉
Here’s what this means:
• Our DLI strand will serve students coming from Caswell Elementary who have been a part of the Dual Language Immersion program since kindergarten.
• This is not a schoolwide program, but rather a specialty strand for approximately 20% of our students. The rest of our amazing Mae Hensley programming will continue as usual!
• Students in the DLI strand will continue to develop their bilingual and biliterate skills while being part of the vibrant Warrior community.
We’re excited to expand opportunities for all students to thrive and to welcome our DLI students as they carry forward their commitment to language immersion. Thank you for your continued support as we grow and innovate to provide the best education possible.
If you have any questions, stay tuned for more updates, or feel free to contact the school office for more information!
